A spread from the Igloo sales catalog used Seurat’s “La Grande Jatte” for its source. We started with a medium-format chrome that unfortunately was dark in the forground. I changed out several props with Igloo products and removed some people from the busy scene. I replaced the foreground with a more saturated scan.

The theme of this catalog was “The Art of Igloo.” The source painting, which was commissioned and executed in the style of the Dutch Masters, showed the executives of Igloo.
The client needed to show more executives that did not fit into the main painting, which resulted in the edited composition – I removed several people [...]
I had to edit the raw shot of a pacemaker to remove the pins and foam used to prop up the product, and then build a new shadow.

Here’s some images that had to get composited against client flooring photography before getting used in a magazine insert. There’s a photo of a rose that I had to select with its shadow to blend over flooring samples, along with a pair of shoes that I also had to composite over flooring samples.

Igloo had a wheeled cooler called the “Polar Roller.” By the time the product got to layout, its name had changed to the “Sport Roller,” so the photo needed to be retouched. We also lightened the name of the product to make it easier to read in the shot when placed on the page.

On the left is the cover of the Igloo sales catalog as originally shot. The look of the cooler changed once we got to layout so the client gave us a rendering of the cooler. I had to put the 3d model into the photo and match lighting and color as shown on the right.

This is one of a series of mock-ups of beverage coolers. The final shape of the cooler and its handle were different than the production model shown on the left, which meant I had to modify the photo to the style shown on the right.

The layout of the 1996 JA report called for a photo of the President and the Chairman of JA Southeast Texas shown together with a group of children.
